When someone you love leaves,
moves away to a different country,
never to return,
the present country that seemed so pleasant
is no longer as attractive.
Because you do not yet have your travel papers,
you remain in your place and do the work that is yours,
with care and compassion towards all,
but you spend time thinking about the country ahead,
and are less attached to your life in this country.
It does not matter as much what people think of you,
since this land is not your final home any more,
a part of you has gone ahead,
and it is that future life that tells you
what is and is not Important in this life.
