"At heart I am lazy, yet I find such peace and delight in it that I believe it is a natural state, and in what looks like my laziest periods I am closest to my center." - Andre Dubus, "A Father's Story", The Substance of Things Hoped For
This blog is a journal of my poetry, my photos, and some quotations that have resonated with me.
I live in rural Manitoba, have passed fifty, and
find myself becoming more contented as I become more contemplative. My husband is my best friend, I am a mother of four, mother-in-law of one, and grandmother of one.
(Update: In mid-August of 2011 our 28-year-old son died accidentally by drowning while camping at a lake house with good friends. My poetry has become therapeutic, and expresses some of the pain and questioning that I am now experiencing.)
